Company History BORDEAUX CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, INC. is a family owned corporation that has successfully been in business since 1977. Joseph T. Bordeaux, Sr. and his wife Agnes S. Bordeaux founded the company November 1, 1977.
The company initially focused on North Carolina State funded construction
projects: new construction of prisons, schools, and renovations. Mr. Joseph
Bordeaux, Sr. currently serves as Chairman of the Board and he continues
to work with our estimators, sharing his wealth of experience. In 1986, J. Tom Bordeaux, Jr., P.E. returned to his hometown to join the family business. With a degree in Civil Engineering from NC State University and experience in project management in heavy civil, mechanical, and commercial construction, Tom brought a vast knowledge of diverse commercial construction to the firm. He is leading the company into the 21st Century with computer-assisted estimation and scheduling. He is a principal owner and serves as President and Corporate Treasurer and continues to perform duties of estimator and project manager. With the talents of this family and the dedication of longtime employees, BORDEAUX CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, INC. has become well respected in the construction industry. Minority Business Statement Bordeaux Construction Company upholds an aggressive commitment towards the recruitment of Minority & Women Business Enterprises (MWBE) and Socially Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (SDBE) on all of our projects. We feel strongly that value and quality are the most important values that we look for and demand of our subcontractors and materials suppliers. We actively pursue these qualities regardless of race, national origin, or gender. At Bordeaux Construction, we pride ourselves in not only being able to meet, but also in often exceeding the owners MWBE and SDBE participation requirements. Even if the MWBE or SDBE participation goals are not met, our efforts to solicit and utilize MWBE and SDBE participation are so substantial, that public owners have to take notice. We realize the importance of small, minority, and disadvantaged businesses and as a result, we have adopted a company policy to help these businesses be a part of the dynamic and highly competitive construction industry. We feel that by having such an aggressive MWBE and SDBE outreach program will allow us to lead others in the industry by example.
